People always say to me “You were so fortunate to have the entrepreneur mentors you had, to help you get to where you are”. This blog will cover my response to that and teach the first key step to become an entrepreneur… and I’m pretty sure it’s not what you think.
I was never fortunate. See, I believe that we work in a universal intelligence environment (another blog on that later) and the reality is if you are not getting the type of help you need it just the student isn’t ready, so the master won’t appear.
Let me explain. The moment I was ready and had enough of being where I was in life, basically broke, All of sudden the right individuals appeared to shed light and show the journey I was always suppose to take, which was of course becoming an entrepreneur.
The first step to becoming an Entrepreneur
The first essential step you MUST take in your entrepreneurial journey is deciding you are ready. It’s in that second of making a decision followed by massive action that essentially cements the fact that you are done with who you were yesterday.
There is a famous saying I live “I woke up one morning a decided I couldn’t live like this anymore, so I changed… forever!”
Now I can’t make that decision for anybody, just like I couldn’t make that decision for myself 25 years ago when I decided to become an entrepreneur. I just had enough pain, which forced me to saying “I just can’t live like this anymore”.
This is where I think a lot of people get it wrong. The only first step to take is making the decision. I call it the ‘decision point’. Until you don’t make that decision for yourself under whatever circumstances, do not expect the Universe or God or whatever you may believe in, to bring you the resources or the individuals or the mentors you need to get you where you need to go.
See, step number one is you saying to yourself “I am ready to become an entrepreneur” and being ready is making that decision, followed with whatever actions are required. You must be ready to become the person you have to become to be successful, whatever that looks like to you.
Nothing get me more excited from a teachers perspective when I see someone making that decision and I can see everything has changed in their world.
